1.Address 3-4-33 Moto-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo (Map) IF you take subway, please get off at Roppongi station (exit NO.1a for Hibiya line, exit NO.A3 for Oedo line), It will be 10 minutes walk from subway station to the Embassy by Asahi Street.

We accept application from: TOKYO, KANAGAWA, CHIBA, SAITAMA, NAGANO, YAMANASHI, SHIZUOKA, GUNMA, TOCHIGI, IBARAGI, NIIGATA, FUKUSHIMA, MIYAGI and YAMAGATA
Mail application is not acceptable. You may apply for the visa by yourself or entrust a travel agency to apply for you.
4. In accordance with “the Law of the People's Republic of China on Entry and Exit of Aliens” and other relevant regulations, the aliens who apply for the Chinese visa shall fulfill the following procedures and provide the pertinent documents.
A. Basic Requirements a. A valid passport with enough blank pages. b. Certificate of alien registration (to the aliens who have the visa with the period of more than half a year in Japan) c. One recently taken, bareheaded, full-faced photo.
B. The pertinent documents required for applications for visas of different types are as follows (except the applications on which the mutual agreement has been reached between China and foreign countries):
Tourism Visa (L) to the Chinese mainland (ONLY FOR THE ALIENS HOLDING JAPANESE LONG-STAY VISA(MORE THAN ONE YEAR)) a. Please see the above-mentioned basic requirements. b. A Chinese hotel reservation certificate and a two-way air ticket. c. For Japanese citizen, visa is not needed within 15 days stay. You should ask a travel agency to apply the tourism visa if you will stay in China over 15 days. d. An approval notice from China Tibet Tourism Bureau (http://www.tibettour.org/chinatibettoursite/moban/index.asp) for applying for a visa to travel to Tibet
Visit or Business Visa (F) For visit or business visa, an invitation letter,from the relevant state departments of the PRC, local government above the level of township, relevant companies, business entities or non-profit governmental organizations is necessary for the application.
Residence Visa (D) A permanent residence confirmation form, which may be obtained through application by the applicant or by his or her designated relatives in China from the exit-and-entry department of the municipal or county public security bureau at the place of the applicant's intended residence.
Employment Visa (Z) An invitation letter from the department of the Chinese Government or Government-authorized company, together with an employment license issued by the relevant department or a certificate of foreign expert or the relevant certificate of employment permit. And the notarized and authenticated "Physical Examination Record for Foreigner" if the applicant is going to work in China for more than half a year.
Study Visa (X) A visa application form for international students (JW-202 or JW-202) issued by the Ministry of Education of China and a notification of admission from the receiving college with the seal of the said ministry. And the notarized and authenticated "Physical Examination for Foreigner" if the applicant is going to study in China for more than half a year.
Transit Visa (G) Please see the above-mentioned basic requirements
Journalist Visa (J-1, J-2) A letter from the competent department of the Chinese Government. And the notarized and authenticated "Physical Examination for Foreigner" for the applicant of J-1 visa.
Diplomatic and Service Visa For the foreign government officials and the staff of diplomatic missions and of the United Nations who are traveling to China for official mission or accreditation, an official note from the governments of their respective countries or from the United Nations, and sometimes a letter or telegram or pertinent document from the competent department of the Chinese Government.
5. Application for Visa/Entry Permit to Hong Kong /Macao SAR of PRC
a. Please visit website of Immigration Department, Government of Hong Kong SAR before application. The website is: http://www.info.gov.hk/immd/ b. You can apply for the visa to enter Macao at the airport when they arrive at Macao.
In accordance with the relevant Law of the People's Republic of China and the international practices, the consul is entitled to request other documents from the applicant, and the consul is also entitled to reject the application.
6. Pick-Up Visa and Visa Fee Normally visa may be picked up on the fourth working day since the date of the application. You can ask express service by paying extra fee. The rush fee is ¥3000 for the next-day and the third-day pick-up. With the receipt, visa can be picked up in person or by someone entrusted. Visa fee (Japanese Yen)
